Oil Painting Tutorials

See below for a list of required materials, all readily available on Amazon. For those based in the UK, I use www.jacksonsart.com or www.artsupplies.co.uk. Module One requires only white and burnt umber oil paints, a flat brush, and a surface to paint on. It is an excellent way to warm yourself up for the rest of the course – and start moving paint around with a bit of freedom! For the entire course, you will need:
– Oil paper or canvas/canvas boards, whichever size you prefer
– Titanium white, cadmium red, lemon yellow, ultramarine, pthalo blue, viridian, sap green, purple/violet, and burnt umber oil paints
– A large flat, medium flat, small flat and a liner or rigger brush
– Low odour solvent (I use Zesti-t)
– Quick drying medium (Liquin/Zest-it)
– Cloth/tissue/wipes
– Large palette (a plate is fine!)
– I recommend an easel, but it’s not essential!
