Come and paint water and light with me on this one day plein air workshop, in the beautiful countryside of Cromford Mills, Derbyshire!
Limited to 8 people, the day will be focused on painting water – the beautiful Cromford canal in the morning, the Derwent river in the afternoon. I will demonstrate first thing in the morning, and then focus on you and your own process and development throughout the rest of the day.
Before the workshop, I ask that you share your work with me so I have some ideas for you on the day. Ultimately I want you to come away with new ideas and methods to try.
I will be working in oils, but feel free to bring acrylics or gouache if you prefer.
All you will need to bring is your painting kit – and appropriate dress! I’ll provide a full list of advised materials when you book, but it is very flexible. Parking will be in the large Cromford Rugby club. Both painting venues are only a couple of minutes walk from the car park.
I’ve spent a lot of time painting in this gorgeous location, ten minutes from my home, and run sessions here many times – it’s a great plein air venue, with Cromford Mills and Wharf coffee shops close by. You do need to be able to carry your kit and walk off path, but nowhere is very far from the loos or car!
Whatever the weather, we will make it work – though if it’s truly stormy, I will rearrange the date (or credit you for a future plein air day of you cannot make this).
